Our permanent collection consists of archival images which have been scavenged from a variety of sources – vintage field guides, artists’ sketchbooks, diagnostic manuals, anatomy books, and others – all of which were scanned at high resolution to be presented digitally.
They are arranged in the Gallery under three categories:
Theater of Nature
Human impressions of the natural world – the motion of heavenly bodies, the mechanics of human bodies, the beasts of the Earth, geographies, geometries, givens.
Theater of Technics
Apparatus conceived by the human mind to suit a practical purpose – devices of measure, products of comfort, systems of service and expedience.
Theater of Mind
All things dreamed and imagined by human beings – the theoretical, the impossible, the otherworldly, the mystical and fantastical, the imponderable.
